Why you will love these Mashed Sweet Potatoes Instant Pot style

This recipe for Instant Pot Mashed Sweet Potatoes is admittedly one of the easiest recipes of all time. I feel like it’s barely even able to be considered a recipe. It’s that simple! It saves so much hassle and time.

I love mashed sweet potatoes. So good, so sweet, so delicious. I particularly love them in our Best Ever Sweet Potato Casserole, but I’m not picky. I’ll eat mashed sweet potatoes anytime!

My favorite part about this recipe is that not only do you get to avoid peeling the potatoes, but they literally just fall out of the skins after cooking. It’s wonderful! They mash so easily, that I often just use a fork.

Instant Pot Sweet Potato Mash Tips and Tricks

  • Be patient and allow the Instant Pot to naturally release. Doing so results in extra tender potatoes that require little effort to mash.
  • Don’t worry about adding more water. If you want more potatoes, add more, but the water amount can stay the same.
  • If you want a lighter version, use a brown sugar substitute instead of real brown sugar.
