About this Pumpkin Shake

This creamy, cool, delicious pumpkin milkshake has all the flavors of Fall, but can be made while it’s still hot outside. It basically tastes like pumpkin pie in milkshake form.

I haven’t personally tried it, but I’ve been told it’s an excellent copycat recipe of Aunt Gravity’s in Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

If you love pumpkin or pumpkin spice, you will love this milkshake.

Pumpkin Milkshake Recipe Ingredients

  • vanilla ice cream – my favorite in this recipe is Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla
  • milk – whole milk will give the richest, creamiest result, but I really like 2% in this
  • pumpkin puree – be sure to get pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie filling
  • brown sugar – you can use light or dark brown sugar in this recipe
  • pumpkin pie spice – if you can’t find it, you can use a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, and ginger
  • whipped cream – premade or homemade are both excellent in this
  • caramel sauce – I usually find this in the section with the chocolate syrup in my grocery store. I like Torani and Ghirardelli brands the best in this. You could also make it homemade if you want.

Pumpkin Shake Substitutions

  • If you want an extra level of flavor, you can even add maple syrup to your shake when blending.
  • You can actually use leftover pumpkin pie for this recipe. Take the pumpkin pie filling of your leftover pie (omit the crust) and use it in place of the puree, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. You can use the crust as a crumbled topping. You could also crumble it and place it on the sides of the glass using the caramel as an adhesive.
  • A great alternative to vanilla ice cream in this recipe would be to use caramel ice cream. The caramel ice cream will add a great richness to the milkshake.
  • You can substitute plant based milks in this recipe if you’d like. Both almond and oat milk would work well here.
  • I do not recommend using skim milk. It’s not as creamy and won’t give you the best results.

How to Store a Pumpkin Shake

I wouldn’t personally recommend making these in advance or saving leftovers. They will separate and change texture once placed in the refrigerator for too long.

These easy pumpkin milkshakes are best served right after blending.
