What are overnight oats?
Overnight oats are a breakfast dish made by combining oats with liquid and letting them soak overnight. Rather than cooking with heat, the oats absorb the liquid and soften.
Are overnight oats healthy for you?
Depending on how you make them, overnight oats can be just as healthy for you as standard cooked oats. Oats contain fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
Are overnight oats better hot or cold?
Most people prefer overnight oats cold (myself included), but if you’d like you can also heat them up in the microwave or on the stove.

How to Make Overnight Oats with Banana

- Pour oats into a jar. Top the oats with the remaining ingredients.
- Place a lid on the jar and shake until all ingredients are incorporated and mixed thoroughly.
- Refrigerate overnight (or at least 6 hours).
- When ready to eat, you can top them with additional pecans and banana or eat as is! I like mine with a small dollop of whip cream.

- Add the ingredients to the jar in the order listed on the recipe. They’ll mix together well with shaking.
- I like to use pint size ball jars with the plastic lids. I eat them straight from the jar when ready.

Banana Overnight Oats Recipe Alterations for Picky Eaters
- You can omit the Greek yogurt if they don’t like it, but I will say that it can change the consistency.
- Swap the Greek yogurt for one they would like.
- Add a sweetener in place of the maple syrup. If they aren’t a fan of maple syrup, you can use brown sugar.

I made it as written the first time, it’s delicious and so filling. The second time I cut the cinnamon to 1tsp, and added a Tbsp of Hemp hearts instead of yogurt….oh man! It’s even better if possible. Also I ran out of chopped pecans so I used 1 Tbsp of those and 1 Tbsp of mixed chopped nuts (like ice cream topping ones).
