These seasoned cheeseburger sliders pack a big flavor in a tiny sandwich. With seasoned ground beef (plus a few extra ingredients!), you have a cheeseburger that’s not your typical slider.

They’re the perfect game-day appetizer or potluck contribution. And of course, they make a fantastic family meal. My little one loves these burger sliders because she can hold them easily and even finish two! I love them because I don’t have to make and flip a bunch of individual patties or clean up a greasy mess.

They’re the perfect size for when you’re not sure exactly how hungry you are but know you want a cheeseburger! It’s the ultimate Super Bowl party food.

These delicious mini cheeseburgers are also perfect for smaller hands or smaller appetites. My daughter always feels so proud that she can hold these “baby burgers” easily and look like a big kid. I love them because she doesn’t make a giant mess eating these little burgers.

Serve these miniburgers as appetizers at family get-togethers, sandwich snacks at parties, and even as simple weeknight meals with potato wedges or mac and cheese.

Why You’ll Love These Hamburger Sliders

  • They’re quick and easy to make. It’s a simple “trick” when you don’t want to make a bunch of individual burgers.
  • Ground beef sliders are great for smaller kids who can’t always finish or even hold a full burger. Also less of a mess.
  • You can serve them as party appetizers, finger foods, after-school snacks or as part of a full family meal.
  • Perfect for entertaining a crowd or just cozying up on the couch.

Ingredients For Burger Sliders with Cheese

Burger Ingredients

  • Ground beef – I don’t recommend using a really lean ground beef. You want a little fat to it for the best flavor.
  • Garlic powder – If you only have garlic salt in your cabinet, you can omit the extra salt from the recipe.
  • Onion powder – If you only have onion salt in your cabinet, you can omit the extra salt from the recipe.
  • Kosher or sea salt – regular table salt will be too much with these measurements
  • Ground black pepper
  • Worcestershire sauce – Use an anchovy-free Worcestershire if you have a fish allergy.
  • Mayonnaise
  • Ketchup
  • American cheese – this will give you the best cheesy melt, but feel free to swap it with some pepper jack or any of your other favorite melty cheese slices.
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded – You’ll have the best results with freshly shredded. Grate it yourself if you want that ultimately melted cheesy result.
  • Hawaiian rolls – These can usually be found in your grocery store bread aisle or by the bakery section. If you can’t find them, you can also use packaged slider buns like the ones from Pepperidge Farm or King’s.
  • Butter – You can use salted or unsalted. Both work well.
  • Garlic salt
  • Sesame seeds

Burger Sauce Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise
  • Ketchup
  • Sweet pickle relish
  • Sugar
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make Cheeseburger Sliders

It’s so easy to make these delicious sliders. Just season the meat, top the rolls, cover and bake. So much better than standing over hot grease flipping burger after burger.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the ground beef and season it with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook the ground beef, breaking apart, until cooked through and no longer pink.
  5. Add the Worcestershire sauce to the ground beef mix and stir to combine.
  6. Add in the mayo and ketchup. Mix until they are fully incorporated and combined. You don’t want any lumps of them in the meat mix.
  7. Remove from the heat and set it aside.
  8. Place the rolls on a baking sheet. Slice them horizontally with a serrated knife (keeping them as one piece/don’t tear them apart).
  9. Remove the top from the rolls and set it aside.
  10. Place the slices of American cheese on the bottom half of the rolls, covering the bread.
  11. Top the American cheese with the ground beef mixture and spread it out evenly. It will be stacked high.
  12. Top the ground beef mixture with the shredded cheddar, spreading it across the top evenly.
  13. Take the top half of the rolls and put them on top of the shredded cheese.
  14. Brush the top of the rolls with melted butter and evenly sprinkle it with garlic salt and sesame seeds.
  15. Place the sliders in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  16. Remove them from the oven and slice them into individual portions and dip in the burger sauce when serving!

Tips & Tricks for the Best Sliders

The ground beef will feel like it might be too much. Just stack it high on top of the cheese and smooth it out a little. It’s okay if a little bit falls out. The burger meat will cook down a little as it bakes.

Resist the urge to break the rolls apart. Just cut the whole thing horizontally. This recipe works best if you keep the rolls together. You can cut them and separate them when they’re done cooking.

You can either use a baking sheet or a cookie sheet to make these. For even less cleanup, you can also make these sliders in a disposable foil pan.

How to Serve Mini Burger Sliders

Serve these cheesy ground beef sliders as party appetizers, finger foods, or as part of a larger family meal. You can also serve them alongside your favorite burger toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, and dill pickles.

Here are a few great sides to go with these tasty slides.

How to Store Leftover Hamburger Sliders

Store leftover sandwiches in a well-sealed, airtight container. Stored properly, leftover sliders should be good for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator.

You can also freeze your leftover sliders. After the sandwiches have cooled completely, place them in an airtight, freezer-safe bag. They are at their best for up to 3 months in the freezer.

How to Reheat Sliders

You can reheat leftover sandwiches in the oven, microwave or air fryer

In the oven – reheat the sandwiches at 350°F for 7-10 minutes until they are warmed through.

In the air fryer – reheat at 350°F for 3-4 minutes until they are warmed through.

In the microwave – Cover sliders with a paper towel and heat on high for 1 minute or until warmed through.
