What to serve with the Best Oven Pork Tenderloin

Pork tenderloin is a stunning main dish that goes so well with a number of side dishes.

If making gravy, serve some kind of potatoes, like hasselback potatoes or boursin mashed potatoes.

For a veggie, consider oven-roasted broccoli or green beans.

And for dessert, make something like cherry crisp or peach cobbler.

Store pork tenderloin in a food-safe, airtight container. According to the USDA, cooked pork should be consumed within three to four days.

Reheating Pork Tenderloin

Reheating pork tenderloin improperly can dry out the meat. Reheat it on the stovetop in a pan with a lid to trap in moisture. You can reheat it whole or in slices.

  • Reheating whole: Turn it every few minutes until heated through, 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Reheating slices: Flip slices every minute or so, about 3 to 4 minutes in total.

Add slices to sandwiches for lunch or enjoy leftovers for dinner with sides again.

Pork Tenderloin Oven Recipe FAQs

Pork Loin vs Tenderloin, what’s the difference?

While they sound the same, these are two different cuts of meat. A pork tenderloin is a boneless, narrow and elongated piece of meat from the muscle that runs against the spine. In contrast, a pork loin is broader and more level in shape, and can be boneless or bone-in.

Why is roasting the best way to cook pork tenderloin?

Pork tenderloin cooks well at high temperatures, from 350°F to 425°F. The heat from the oven warms from all sides, producing a juicy roast.

Should you roast pork loin covered or uncovered?

It is not necessary to cover pork loin when you’re roasting it. If you’re using the right method, it does not need to be covered and will still be juicy and tender.

How do you cook a pork tenderloin without drying out?

One of the biggest mistakes people make with pork is overcooking it and drying it out. Pork tenderloin should be cooked at the correct temperature and only for about 25-30 minutes. Once the internal temperature reaches 145°F (for medium rare) or 160°F (for medium), it should be removed from the oven to avoid overcooking and drying out. By using my method, you won’t end up with dried out pork.

Does pork tenderloin need to be seared before baking?

Pork tenderloin does not have to be seared before baking, but you can if you’d like to achieve the mallard reaction giving it a nice crispy exterior.
