- Add all ingredients (except bread) to a food processor.
- Pulse until smooth.
- Spread the butter evenly over your slices of bread (or half loaf if using french bread)

Tips for Making Easy Garlic Bread with Sliced Bread
- If you like a browner, crispier garlic bread, you can utilize your broiler. If you do this, be very careful and keep a close watch. Just 30 seconds under a broiler can take bread from toasted to completed burned.
- Use a flavorful bread! I really like picking up a loaf of rosemary bread from the bakery section of my local grocery store.
- Don't go too thick with the butter. It'll have a hard time toasting up.
Homemade Garlic Bread with Sliced Bread FAQs
Whatever bread you like best! I really like rosemary bread from our bakery section at the grocery store, but French bread and even your standard sliced bread at home work great!
Absolutely!
You can make garlic bread with olive oil instead of butter. Be sure to brush lightly and don't get too heavy-handed with the oil.
Alterations for picky eaters
- Use a bread they love! If white, sliced bread with the crust cut off is their favorite, use that. Use the bread they love the most.
- Swap the fresh garlic for garlic powder. Some people don't like the taste of fresh garlic, but like the taste of garlic powder. It's a totally fine swap to make.
Alterations to lower calories or WW points
- Use a lower calorie or point bread. A good alternative for this would be one of the loafs in the store that are 35-45 calories per slice or even doing it with 2 ingredient dough.
- Replace the butter with a butter substitute. Be careful on taste and melting factor if you do this though!
How To Store Homemade Garlic Bread
The best way to store homemade garlic bread is at room temperature. Place it in an airtight container and leave it on the counter. If you want to extend the life, I recommend freezing it.
What To Serve With Garlic Bread from Sliced Bread
My favorite recipes to serve with garlic bread are soups, stews, and dishes that have a lot of sauce. It soaks it up and tastes great dipped in the sauce. Some of my favorites are:
- Creamy Garlic Shrimp with White Sauce
- Cajun Shrimp Alfredo
- Pasta Fagioli
- Basil Garlic Alfredo
- Instant Pot Ground Beef and Pasta
